What Can I Expect During My Diagnostic Arterial Ultrasound?
On the day of your diagnostic arterial ultrasound, you will be asked to wear loose-fitting clothing that is easy to lift or remove if asked. Before your diagnostic ultrasound begins, your vascular specialist will apply a small amount of gel to the skin to lubricate the area of the skin that the ultrasound wand will glide over. Your specialist will then use press the wand onto the skin of the desired area to get a better view of the internal structures of your blood vessels and arteries. The entire ultrasound process typically takes 45-60 minutes to complete, after which time you'll be able to return to your normal daily activities including work.
